Have a Happy Halloween

Friday 31st October 2008

Witches and vampires are about to descend on a street near you. Why not plan ahead and make sure this year's Halloween is fun and even better… safe!

Halloween should be filled with surprises and magic for everyone. If you follow these common sense safety tips, you can make sure things don't go 'bump in the night!'

  • Make sure any novelties you buy have the CE safety Mark. (If you are concerned about the safety of items contact Trading Standards on 01851 709577)
  • Make sure that children are kept away from naked flames and candles when wearing Halloween costumes and masks with synthetic hair.
  • 'Sorry, no trick or treat' Poster PDF (PDF, 78Kb)
A flyer that homeowners can display in their windows if they would rather trick-or-treaters not to call.  It is hoped that trick or treaters will honour the ‘do not disturb’ notice and move on when they see one displayed.
